Olympics

Aren't we supposed to have the Opening Ceremony before the events start?

Whoever mixed up the North and South Korean flags is probably looking at a change of Korea. Thing is, it's our Olympics and if anyone gets stroppy about the odd cock up, then just tell them to go home. We should be proud of our sense of humour and mix up stuff for a laugh- hoist a pirate flag if Somalia win and play the theme tune to Borat if Kazakhstan end up on the podium.

Top Tip: Take an empty water bottle and fill it up for free once inside the venue

There are always early rounds of events before the opening ceremony. Doesn't make sense, I know.

FFS it's a cock-up, frank! It makes us look like idiots! I never thought I'd be in the position of being happy to look fucking stupid but he Olympics (tm) has done it! Bring on the many and varied cock-ups! May I apologise in advance to our many guests for being part of a country that couldn't run the proverbial whelk stall!
Yeh and sorry if you get blown up.

The football always kicks off before the opening ceremony, because the players are professionals who have other commitments elsewhere. The footballers never stay for the closing ceremony either, because they have scheduled matches in other parts of the world.

Top tip makes the large assumption that the water inside the venue is of potable quality. I have visited more than one tourist attraction in the UK where there are signs in the facilities making it clear that the water is suitable for washing but is not drinkable, and that drinkable water is available in the cafeteria...
