So as the low life run amok in London, Birmingham and anywhere else where there might be the chance of nicking something, Theresa May has announced that:
"Those responsible for violence and looting in London over the last three days will be brought to justice!"
'Justice' no doubt consisting of cautions, community service and for the worst cases- short jail sentences of which one quarter must be served.
One year to go before the Olympic Games and we are in danger of becoming a laughing stock.

Basically, she doesn't know what to do about it: she just thinks that if she pronounces it "utterly unacceptable" enough times, it'll make the problem go away.
People don't want "rogues galleries" of suspects from grainy CCTV stills to put before the courts, because they know full well that nothing much is going to happen to them when they get there. People want action out there on the streets now to stop it happening, and if maybe it takes the odd water cannon or two to achieve that, then so be it.
It's probably same minority that have never been "sorted" in schools. They have have been taught that they can get away with it !

Personally, I think the Libyan response to social unrest is the model we should be following. Perhaps Gaddafi isn't quite as mad as we all thought?

Too late.
I am pretty sure that I taught a few of them when I spent a year in England working.
Subsequent events have rather overtaken this post, with heavy prison sentences of up to 4 years.
Something tells me you are all fascist....or Tories!
