Apprentice Stella

Mrs C returned from Scagton today to announce that we would be having a Capon for Christmas dinner.

My initial concerns about eating a Penguin were soon laid to rest after a surreptitious look on the internet revealed it to be a chicken that has had its conkers removed, or in teaching speak a Senior Management Chicken.

I understand from the Fluffies that their conkers are removed without benefit of anaesthetic or trained personnel. We can only dream that the practice be extended to management.

Surely management are headless as well as conkerless?

When in doubt:
Run in circles,
Scream and shout."

I don't get the connection between Apprentice Stella and a chicken.

I'm missing something obviously

What a beautiful thought.

They take the little boy chicks and just rip off their balls...
after that, a life of misery in some battery until they are cruelly killed.
These poor animals never see thelight of day, they never have a life, I wouldn't support this kind of animal slavery.

My butcher tells me that true capons are no longer available, because of the animal cruelty. The capons that he and others sell are simply large but otherwise 'normal' chickens.
