Don't Say I Didn't Warn You Not To Do This...

Thanks to Nick for this story.

If your judgement is ever called into question, just reply: "Well it's not as bad as theirs" and you should be fine.

Given what has happened recently in the U.S.A I think the teachers were right to do what they did. Surely given that the kids had been practising these situations all week they must have had some clue what was going on. If they didn't then I'm sorry but they really must be the thickest kids on the planet.

Also, it would have been pointless if the teachers had warned the kids that this was going to happen because then their reactions wouldn't have been the same. Personally, I think this shows that the kids obviously weren't paying attention in class.

I hope the teachers don't get into trouble for this, if I was one of the parents with kids at this school I would be congratulating the teachers, not wanting them disciplined.

It's doing activities like this that help kids to grow tough, not talking and telling them how to be tough. Same as throwing kids in at the deep end of a swimming pool on their first visit is a god way to get them to swim.

After Dunblane all our school windows were restricted to three inch opening.
It must be good because nobody has tried shooting through it.

At least it makes a difference from these boring fire drills.

There's a difference between having a drill to practice for "what if", and putting kids in fear of their lives. You have a fire drill, and everyone *knows* it's a fire drill, and no one's scared. Then when there's a real fire, everyone hears the alarm and trudges out going "gah, another bloody drill" and there is no panic. That's why you drill. Drills aren't meant to be fear-inducing.

"...and let that be a lesson to you."

I will be the first to admit, I’ve watched For The Love of the full lace wigs and lace wigs several times, maybe lace front wigs and lace front wigs too many times, but that’s besides the point.
