First three were Orange, HSBC and Scottish Power. Fourth was Laithwaites Wine. Interesting comments on how good First Direct are, considering that they're actually owned by HSBC!

ps can anyone confirm whether the rumour I keep hearing about schools not allowing pupils to bring in the cardboard tubes from toilet rolls for craft lessons is actually true or just an urban myth?

Re: Toliet Rolls.

True.

A colleague confirms they can only be taken in to school if they have been irradiated in a microwave for 15 seconds.

P.S.

The same goes for Toilet Rolls.

As a scientist, may I say, that hvaing to microeave a toilet roll tube is pointless, and this sort of attitude to health and safety is insane.

Totally agree with Anonymous, but it's the tick in the box that allows the child to take in to school the essential component for the model spaceship/binoculars etc

Children can bring them in to make models but staff have to refer to them as 'cardboard tubes'

My recommendation for an energy company with Real People on the phone is Ecotricity. They've always been brilliant to us - although they're pretty tiny, which probably helps.

The HSE says it's false,

but of course some schools may have picked it up on the grapevine and made it true.
