Three

Three quick bits as I'm in a rush today, due to my own bad planning:

1) We've already discussed plans to keep pupils in Education of some sort until they are 18. My own viewpoint is that it could be a great idea if it was done properly, but almost certainly won't be; so will fail miserably and be abandoned.

2) It takes a brave man to publicly criticize your own son after he has been killed, and Mr Elgar; father of the 'graffiti artist' (ie mindless vandal) killed by a train, deserves our admiration.

Many other parents who try to defend the worst actions of their offspring could learn a lot from him.

3) Ruth Kelly sending her kid to an expensive public school rather than the local one and coming out with some stuff about 'Special Needs'. Why couldn't she just have been honest and said:

"The State Schools might be good enough for your brats, but not for my child."

The Government should go the whole hog and issue us all with a University degree at birth, thus saving billions on education.I am positive Gordon Brown will reveal such a scheme as a sweetener before he becomes P.M.

Ridiculous idea! What he should do is sell them to us at birth and makeus pay for them throughout life.

How much will it cost me over, say, 25 years to become King?

Actually, they get degrees given to them too. Is this extra?

Dear school master,

I would prefer it that the coal mines were re-opened and naughty school kids were sent down the mines at the age of 11. Education til the age of 18? How proposterous!

I'm concerned over your admission of bad planning. Hasn't it been checked by the Head, Deputy Head, Assistant Deputy Head and sundry Subject Coordinators?
Are you not doing the same thing you did this time last year, but find a need to rewrite your planning as your contribution to Senior Management's efforts to reinvent the wheel three time a year?

I have indeed advised the Government on many occassions. A small number of them have in fact 'stuck it up their arse', or so I'm unreliably informed.

This is wise advise indeed.
