I know we have this culture in state teaching, of never naming and shaming, (which is why we are in such a mess) but I can't even manage to get anyone to name a school that they think is great!

surprised St Aidan's in Harrogate hasn't been nominated.
As good state schools I suggest Clarendon House & Chatham House in Ramsgate. But then I am not a teacher and therefore have no innate aversion to naming and shaming.

Dunno if there's online info for value added score as that would be the real test for the quality of teaching and learning etc.

I don't see the relevance of selective entry counting against them though. They're state schools and great - requirement met!
