NUT

Here's the email I sent to the Teachers Unions NASUWT and ATL. The National Union of Teachers, (NUT) who won an award from the TUC in 2008 for The best use of electronic communication; doesn't have a contact email address on its site, believe it or not. However if anybody knows it, please pass on my request.

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Could you tell me what support you would have given to Adam Walker if he had been a member of your Union? If you don't know who he is, here's a link

Thanks

I'll let you know if they can be bothered to reply...

I volunteer in my son's state school - a morning a week I take a bunch of year 4s to the library to do a maths programme.I've noticed that a soon as all of the (ancient and poorly maintained ) computers are in use the system crashes.I would be cross if I thought that the straw that broke the camel's back was a teacher surfing the net.
On another note- I'm amazed that the server let him on to the site. The nanny-ware at my hospital is so strict that I couldn't get on to the FDA site because there were references to illicit drugs (I treat substance abusers) and an NHS doctor complained in the BMJ that his email submission about stroke victims bounced because it contained the word "spastic".

Surely if we believe in freedom of speech, it includes freedom for people with obnoxious views.

And who's to say if a particular set of views is too obnoxious to be allowed?
