School Mottos

I love receiving these. The sicklier the better. (I know that they sort of give away where you work, but you could always say that you 'spotted them whilst on holiday' or 'your friend told you' or something.)

My current favourite is 'Learning For Success' sent in by 'Flutters'

However, I refuse to believe any of the following ones:

"Every Child Will Excel" (In a US school purportedly sponsored by Microsoft)

"Reinforcing Failure" from 'Anonymous'

"Spitting for Success" from 'J Bloggs'

And I'm not entirely convinced by 'Inclusivity For All' from D Barton

I find it necessary to point out the example of Lake Wobegon, where "all the children are above average".

Not exactly a motto, but I am sure given a few weeks' work by one of Ruth Kelly's focus groups, there is something useful in there.

The school I used to attend has a motto "From Each His Best", I believe it will be changed to "From Each His/Her Best" if the school is in UK, thank god it isn't

I worked in a school where it was 'Reach for the Stars'

best I ever heard, as it reflects effort and not attainment, which is often the case, was at my primary school:

"Only My Best Is Good Enough"

I visited a school in Uganda where the motto was "No pain no gain"

My school motto is 'Hoc age!' which means 'Do it!' and my old school motto is 'Bon et Fidelis' which I think means 'Good and faithful'

How about 'Celebrate Success'?? at a school where success is as rare as rocking horse shit?

at my middle school the motto was "welcome, everyone learns here" shouldn't that be a given...but actually there were a few kids who didn't make it to high school so the motto is misleading
