Hand Car Wash

There are many things that I am not very good at and looking after my car is one of them. Yesterday, on impulse I called in at a newly opened Hand Car Wash, to see what would happen.

A dozen Eastern European men immediately descended on my vehicle; spraying, wiping, waxing and furiously polishing until it took on a completely different appearance. I was amazed at the results and now proudly display my car for all to marvel at, rather than hiding it round the corner in shame.

Why do we pay our own youth to sit around on the Rock 'n Roll all day and bring in foreigners to work?

Because they do a proper job and show pride in their work, as opposed to stealing the hubcaps and working in slow motion.

Because they have a work ethic.

Cynical

Shouldn't it be more a question of why *don't* we kick our youth up the arses and get them to work instead of giving them free flats for getting pregnant at 16?

I don't think we so much bring them in as that they have the gumption to come and find work here. I'm all for arse-kicking.

I don't thnk we should kick them out and kick our home-grown work-shy little princes into their jobs. I'd like to see proud workers of any nationality keep their jobs and our lazy slackers dig holes on Monday for their dole and fill them back in on Tuesday.

I considered washing my car recently but I'm even more worried about what it might look like underneath. Maybe I'll hedge my bets and look for place that employs Brits.

Screw those slackers. At least the economic migrants do their job well.

Yes - but perhaps we should also ask whether all these Eastern Europeans are paying tax, national insurance, vat, rent, rates, and are covered by proper business trade insurance, have employers liability insurance, and are meeting all the other rules and regulations that UK businesses have to follow.

I have to agree with LilyoftheField. I think that this 'Now Show' piece from Marcus Brigstocke sums it up nicely: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg1CLskFIKQ&feature=related
He says: "Foreign workers? Coming over here, taking our jobs? NO! Doing. Doing! Doing our jobs. Willingly. With a friendly attitude and and a work-loving smile."

Whereas, the average young Brit today? Well... "One World Cup & Two World Wars, doo-dah, doo-dah... WHAT?! Work? How'd'ya spell that, mate? Nah, I got mi bird up the duff so's we claim off the social, innit? An' if we don' get hitched we bof' get singles benefit! I got a lernin' dif'culty. Never wen' school, waste of time, but I carn reed or spel, ths' ADHD, right? 'Nuther £50 a week, that's the Sky sorted. Work is for t*ssers, innit?! Quids in, me, knoworrimean?

A credit to the country.... unlike us poor honest folk of course... I can't afford to have a TV and just have one meal per day. But I have never received a penny in state benefits and work for all tht I DO have (mostly books...!). But I don't think that makes ME the idiot here... ;-) x

CDC: And that's why we have the IRS and local councils.
I'd be more worried about the billions lost due to high level corporate tax evasion than a bunch of guys making a living while doing a damn fine job.
I don't see many Brits willing to stand in Tesco's car park and scrub my car while I shop, even if the EE's were not paying tax, they are less of a drain on the system than the full-time unemployed, and provide a useful service.

I asked a nice east European man to clean my car at Sainsbury's... it was his job not just a total random man or anything. He did an excellent job. About a month later I thought it needed another clean, back to the same Sainsbury's and much to my amazement the same man (they have about 10 car cleaners patrolling the car park at anyone time) came over, remembered me and had the car sparkling inside 10 minutes while I popped into the shop.

My nephew is a youth and woking in the office with us for a bit. Two weeks ago I asked him to find out the result of a case for me. Today I got the answer... it only took one phone call it's just getting him to make the call!!

Really it is a nice blog, I would like to tell you that you have given me much knowledge about hand car wash. Thanks for everything.

Cos our lazy feckle youth and their spwaners are too damned lazy to do it and get more money on the dole supplemented by a bit of crime...probably. And, as all good business folk have know for many years, the Brits don't really care.

Getting a hand car wash done by professionals is always the best way to go especially for people who doesn't have the luxury of time.
