A Fine Mess

A central theme of this Blog has always been:

If the general public knew what really goes on in many of our schools they would march on Number Ten and burn it to the ground.

This is a good example. We are sending a strong, clear message to pupils who cannot behave in school. Unfortunately that message is something along the lines of:

"Do that again, naughty pupil and we will er... probably just tell you not to do it again"

Thanks for the link to this. I have never heard of this happening in America but who knows. I am 6 months out of graduating with my teaching degree and these kinds of things are what scare me the most. Stupid bureaucracy!

Thanks for the link. I knew there was a financial cost when a school permanently excludes a pupil, but I didn't realise they were FINED! It's just - well, effing stupid doesn't even begin to describe it.
